Paper-Free Printing

Okay, I know if you look at the desk surrounding you it's beginning to pile up with papers- oh, wait that's my desk. Here's a handy organizing tip to rid yourself of all those online confirmations and receipts you print. When you need to print a receipt after an online purchase "print" it electronically to a pdf file and eliminate the need to keep track of extra papers. If in the future you need a hard copy of the receipt you can print it at that time and it will look exactly as it would have if you had printed it from the website the day of purchase. The best way to do this is to download and install a pdf driver. Once you install it a virtual printer will show up in the list of printer options when you choose print. Select the pdf printer and the document will print to a file instead of a piece of paper. I use a free version of Cute PDF Writer. The installation process takes two steps- first download the ghostscript that you will find listed under installation requirements then second you can download the Cute PDF Writer.
