Finding Magic in Christmas Poetry on the 7th Day of Christmas
Today my family gathered together on this cold, Sabbath night 18 days before Christmas to share and memorize Christmas poetry. We are working on "The Christmas Alphabet" which we will perform for our friends on Christmas Eve. We are also illustrating it to make a book for friends and family. Bill Pearce has a lovely collection of poems that he has written all about Christmas; and favorite classics like Robert Frost's Stopping by the Woods on a Winter Evening, the Night Before Christmas, and Christmas Bells by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow are always winners (check out the link to Christmas Bells- it has bios of the authors along with the Christmas poems). Tonight was a truly memorable Christmas experience as the true spirit of Christmas touched our hearts and left its magic in our home!
